JéRôME TANON

Jérôme Tanon is a french photographer & movie director. Born in Paris and living in Annecy, Jérôme has been a snowboard photographer since 2007. He quickly switched from digital to shooting solely on film with analog cameras. Self-taught, creative in the darkroom, his timeless and intimate creations are easily spotted, with a typical grain and black and white look. He is mostly known for his works with double exposures, silver-gelatin lith prints, bromoils and etchings.

His photographs are exhibited regularly and published in snowboard magazines around the world. Besides his personal projects such as "Emperor" and "Singes", in 2016 Jérôme released the self- produced documentary: "The Eternal Beauty Of Snowboarding", an instant classic reaching millions of views on Youtube. His second film "ZABARDAST", a freeride expedition in the Karakoram, was released in fall 2018, winning several festival awards, and gave way to his first photo art book. In 2020 he released "Heroes - Women In Snowboarding" in the form of a community coffee table art book & travelling photo exhibition.

In fall 2022, the public discovered: "Free Rider", an epic documentary shot in Alaska. In 2024 Jérôme directed yet another film "Bleau Dans La Peau", featuring boulder climbing in the Fontainebleau forest. In 2024 and 2025 the public will discover his latest film project: an adventure film shot in Antarctica featuring the De le Rue family named "Of A Lifetime". The multi-talented artist keeps working on what he loves without compromise.
